Stellantis Layoffs 2024: Global Automobile Company To Lay Off ‘Unspecified’ Numbers of Employee To Deal With Rapidly Changing Global Auto Market

New York, April 24: Stellantis layoffs continue in 2024 as the company aims to implement another round of job cuts in coming months. This time, the company did not reveal the specific numbers of the Stellantis employees that would be affected due to the layoffs. Global automobile company Stellantis signed a deal that led to 3,000 voluntary layoffs in Italy. Now, the latest round of layoffs would likely affect the unknown numbers of the employees working at Stellantis.

According to a report by CNBCTV18, global automobile company and Jeep maker Stellantis would let go of employees in the coming months. According to the report, global automobile company Stellantis had 43,000 employees as per a statistics. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares reportedly said that the company would work to cut the costs globally to keep EVs affordable for middle-class customers. The report highlighted that the automobile giant did not reveal the exact date of the Stellantis layoffs and how many employees would be affected. The Stellantis CEO reportedly said that the EVs cost around 40% more than the gasoline-powered vehicles. He reportedly added that the middle class considered electric cars expensive. The Stellantis layoffs will begin in the coming months at US factories. Stellantis said that layoffs will ensure the company’s long-term sustainability in a rapidly changing global market. The company also added that it would improve productivity.
