  • Enable all the alerts for your device

The phone settings says when you are roaming or don’t have an active SIM, you may get some alerts that are not included in these settings. We got these steps on a Pixel phone but you can apply the same on a OnePlus or a Samsung or a Xiaomi phone as well.

These emergency alerts have been tested time and again in the country. In fact, many users in the Delhi-NCR region on September 15, 2024 got a buzzing sound on their phones and with a screen flashing this message, “This is a SAMPLE TESTING MESSAGE sent through Cell Broadcasting System by Department of Telecommunication, Government of India. Please ignore this message as no action is required from your end. This message has been sent to TEST Pan-India Emergency Alert System being implemented by the National Disaster Management Authority. It aims to enhance public safety and provide timely alerts during emergencies,”

With millions of people using a phone, it allows the DoT to push these alerts and warn people about possible natural disasters or other imminent events.
