Health is a core part of everyone’s lifestyle and to keep a track of their vitals, it has become common for many people to use health apps on their phones. And now, one brand is taking this assistance to another level, allowing you to track all the medicines prescribed to you and also remind you to take them.

The new medication feature comes via the Samsung Health app where you can manually feed data on the kind of medicines you take, when you have to take them and even mention the shape and colour of the pills given to you.

Samsung is bringing the new feature on its Health app to select markets for now, which only talks about the US when the app gets a new update by the end of this month. The medication feature is also helpful to people who need to be reminded when their stock is running out, and they need further assistance from doctors.

It goes one step further, by talking you through the details of the medicines you are taking, does it have any side effects and even warn you if something isn’t right about the pills you have been given. Samsung has taken expert help from a company called Elsevier that does work around medical content.

So, what does one need to use this medication feature on Android? Samsung says you need to have a phone running Android 8.0 or higher, use the updated Samsung Health app version 6.26 or later. One thing to note is that the health app’s medicine feature might vary based on the phone you’re using.

In more Samsung news, the company has finally brought its self-repair program to the foldable lineup, giving people the chance to repair the Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Flip 5 at their home, with the help of the tool kit that the company provides, most definitely for a high price.
